Handmade pieces with delicate yarns by female artisans.

The loom was used by women over the centuries and was a vital part of home. It met basic family needs such as clothing, textiles for everyday use, sheets, tablecloths, curtains as well as sacks for the trasportation of goods. They used silk, wool and cotton yarns.

The wool was processed by the women themselves, a painstaking and tedious process followed by the dying, whereby plants such as walnut, indigo, radish were used to achieve the desired coloration. Today, the manual loom has almost disappeared after being replaced by the mechanical loom and the weaving process has been mechanized. We can only find it in a few houses and museums of folk art.
